Chief Instructor

Hello Everyone!
Just quickly like to mention the recent Hunter Trails that were held at the grounds on the 26th October. It all started off a bit hectic but we eventually got there and the day flowed on and it was great to see soooo many of our riders out the in the blue and white uniform!! (Great idea Sarah!). We finished the day off with a lot of our riders receiving trophies and/or ribbons and there is a great photo of them in this newsletter. Thankyou again to everyone who helped in the canteen, without you guys getting together and stepping up to do a job we wouldn't of had the successful day that we did. This was also the first competition that we had the SES workers assisting us - I think it is safe to say that we will definitely get them back again next year. Thankyou - it was a great effort!
Well, it's just about the end of the PCAQ year and we will all look forward to a two month break until "Sign on Day" in February 2009! I would first like to extend my thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support and dedication to our Fantastic club at MGDH&PC! I am so proud to be a part of this Club and the way that we have conducted ourselves this year at all events has reaped praise and excellent feedback from all of our peers. Well Done!
Thankyou also to our Sponsors for the year:- Blue Heeler Products, City Hire, Greg Grant Saddlery, Lower Cost Cars, Manly Road Veterinary Hospital, Leo Muller Chrysler Jeep and Capalaba Saddlery. We appreciate to continued support of our Club. We sincerely thankyou.
A special mention must go to my fellow Committee Members being Linda Udell, Peter Weiss, Scott Bielenberg and Cherie Contessa - as well as Kathy Wade for most of this year, without them our club would be lost and their hard work and determination to make things happen cannot not go unnoticed! All our Committee members are a dedicated bunch of people that work tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly and many, many thanks to all of you for your incredible hard work! Our EFA Committee this year again ran two amazing events and should also be congratulated for their hard work and determination. These EFA events give our members the opportunity to progress and challenge themselves more and of course all the hard work from our members that go into making our grounds look terrific all year round! Thankyou!
Many, many thanks must also go to the wonderful Instructors that have helped me throughout the year. Caroline McDiarmid, Donnalee Hardcastle, Clare and Lara Fowler, Rob Harrison, Linda Udell, Jenny McDonald and Clare Rosoman. I don't know what I would do without you, running any event/muster by myself would be impossible and you guys make it so much easier for me! I would like to also thank all the parents and the other members that work so tirelessly, you make such a difference to our club without you we would definitely find it very hard to keep going! The constant involvement of our members and the close community we share is truly special, we are always supporting one another whether its to do with Pony Club or not and this is something that sets us apart from the other clubs.
Lastly, I would like to thank - The Kids, you are the very reason why we do this. I am very proud of all of you and I have enjoyed watching you all progress through the year. All I ask is that you keep wanting to learn and you keep listening. Maybe not everything that you hear is right for you and your horse at the time but it might help you later in your riding and your progress through the years. You guys have embraced me as your Chief Instructor and I couldn't ask for anything more. You seek me out to help you and you let me know when something exciting has happened to you at a competition or muster. Whenever this happens it puts a smile on my face and I like to think that I must be doing something right. Thankyou to each and every one of you as you guys have made my year!!!! Some of you will be doing your Certificates on Saturday and I know that you will all do well and you should all be Proud of Your Own Achievements through the year.
On a final note, I have been instructing at our Club for 3 years now and although at times it has been very challenging it has also been very rewarding. I have been proud to be the Chief Instructor of MGDH&PC and next year I would like to be able to ride my pony at some musters and do a few competitions, so perhaps it might be time for someone new.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all at the Xmas Party/AGM on the 22nd of November and our final Muster on the 23rd (the next day) which will be a very a la casual dress up/recover day (I think for some adults), so make sure you are there!
Enjoy your holiday (Xmas) break, stay safe and look after your ponies and each other! Look forward to seeing you all next year!
Happy Riding,
Kym Luis
Chief Instructor
